Wow - I am so happy about the news today. I did not realize how heavy that was weighing on my mind until I talked to Dr. Macey. So now on to the next thing :)
I already knew I had to get dye in my lymph nodes tomorrow to map them. Dr. Livingston's nurse called today and let me know I need a blood test and a chest x-ray before surgery.
The blood test and x-ray are now scheduled Wed morning before my procedure to put dye in my lymph nodes. It is not a big deal, I just worry sometimes about my time away from work.
That being said, I have an incredible support system at work. People are offering help everywhere so I can focus on healing. I am so lucky. All I have to do is ask --- which is very hard for me. I think one of the hardest things about this journey is asking for help. I like being independent but this is a great reminder of how I need everyone in all my communities and how my faith in God will carry me through.
My surgery schedule changed a bit. I will post that later. Also, I will post about help with meals next week. I will be working from home all week. I am very fortunate I have the option to work from home so I can use ice packs rather than drugs if I am uncomfortable. However I do know that means I will be alone and in my head all day. If people have the time, it would be great to get a meal that I do not have to fix myself and get a short visit when it is delivered. More to come on that. Many people have offered but I am somewhat of a picky eater . . . I will let you know what that means and my wonderful friend Starr offered to coordinate the schedule.
Blessings to all -- I am a very lucky and loved person.

The news was wonderful. It was heavy on all of our minds! Its nice to have someone manage the meal schedule so that we're all not trying bring you something on the same day. I'm ready to make you the Black Bean soup as soon as you give me a delivery date!
ReplyDeleteI am convinced that we will continue to get good news for the rest of the week. I wish I could come over on Black Bean Soup day! That sounds really good. You may have to start a recipe blog! You know I'm thinking about you all the time. I could bring Mexican Minestrone, it would just take a week to get there! Good thoughts are winging your way.
ReplyDeleteYa, I've been obsessed with black beans lately. I've always liked them but I've been craving them. Wish you could come on Black Bean soup day too.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I can make is my beer chicken. Alas, it is all the way in Chicago.
