I decided to work part of the day at the office. It is great I have the option to work at home but it is also beneficial to be at the office. My first meeting was at 7am with TCS offshore.
I made it until about noon then packed everything up and headed home. I am very lucky I'm only about 20 minutes from the office on a bad day.
I do not like taking drugs. I would prefer to manage the pain with ice packs. Today I did not have an ice pack from approx 6am until noon. That was too long. When I came home I loaded up with ice and took a pain pill (the prescription says 2 pills but I take 1). I did get behind the pain today but I will learn from that and do better tomorrow
Even though the outcome was so great, you still have had very major surgery (a week after other surgery). It's funny that when you can "carry around" the "broken" part, it seems like you should just bounce back immediately and be able to pick up all things in your life. Out of sight . . . If you had an open, bleeding wound, or if you were on crutches or in a wheelchair (or less independent) the sympathy level (even from yourself) would be 100% more. You should be in pain from the insult your body has received. Thank goodness you have the means to control the pain. Don't let it get ahead of you again. Better to be a little muddle-headed than to be in pain. It isn't permanent (thank the Lord). Well, oops, this lecture doesn't have much of an impact, because here we are facing the weekend!!! My adivce is still to zone out . . . be mellow (meaning pills). If you don't remember the book you are reading because of the meds . . . wellll, just enjoy it again!!! Take care!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love you so much!! Wonderful advice from my big sister.
ReplyDeleteHard part is I'm part my mother and have no idea how to rest or stop even if I take a pain pill. Ideas welcome.
I am doing what I can and friends and family are doing an incredible job of helping -- but I am still pacing and ready ....waiting to NOT be the patient.
So much good news this week! I love Snoopy's Happy Feet! Yes, it is hard to keep a Kidman girl down. Kris gave you sound advice....pace yourself, ice yourself and be mellow.
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess we can always pad the walls and you can stagger around and be "busy"! You will just look so very silly. But, if you must, we will pad the walls so that you can seem to be productive. We cannot, however, pad outside of your home, so you are on your own out there. Or, if you dare, come here and you can "work from home" I will find you a very, very padded room!!! heh, heh, heh. . . .
